Course Summary: The use of Colour as a Therapy is a non-invasive holistic therapy which dates back thousands of years and the effects of colour on our moods, health, thoughts and feelings have been studied by scientists for years. Colour seems to have an effect even on blind people, who are thought to sense colour as a result of energy vibrations created within the body. Today the therapeutic applications of light and colour are being investigated in major hospitals and research centres worldwide. Results indicate that full-spectrum, ultraviolet, coloured, and laser light can have therapeutic value for a range of conditions from chronic pain and depression to immune disorders.

Course Content: This Diploma covers the concepts of the history and theory of colour therapy, theories of life force, colour, auras and chakras and includes interpersonal skills and consultation. It also includes counselling techniques and the relationship of colour therapy to auras and chakras. It covers the use of colour in relation to other therapies such as yoga and metamorphic technique to give a thorough grounding in the subject. The aim of this course is to train students to a professionally competent level enabling them to provide holistic colour therapy which meets client needs, develop understanding of the relationship of colour therapy to the aura and chakras and to demonstrate a full and accurate understanding of the application of interpersonal skills and their integration with physical therapies. It is suitable for those employed in beauty or holistic therapy, health related services.

Includes: This Diploma also includes the VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Health, Safety, Security and Employment Standards. This course is a mandatory part of all Holistic and Sports Therapy courses. If however you have already gained this Diploma in the last 3 years you will not have to complete it again providing evidence can be shown. Course Assessment: This qualification requires the candidate to provide evidence of competence in the form of case studies or individual treatments to cover range statements, and demonstrate sufficient knowledge to be able to explain Colour Therapy and provide it safely, effectively and consistently. Independent study is an essential part of this course and you will be required to complete both practical and theoretical assignments at home. Assessments will take place during the course and on the final assessment day.
