According to Wikipedia, Educational accreditation is a type of quality assurance process under which services and operations of an educational institution or program are evaluated by an external body to determine if applicable standards are met. Should standards be met, accredited status is granted by the agency.
Chrysalis Therapy Training is an Accredited VTCT (Vocational Training and Charitable Trust) Training Provider. Regular inspection visits from the VTCT External Verifier ensure that we upholding national standards and are complying with all the VTCT requirements and regulations, allowing us to continue to provide world class qualifications in Holistic Therapies.
Our most recent visit took place on Friday 29th July 2011 and was carried out by VTCT External Verifier, Sue Simpson; the visit was successful and we are extremely proud to share with you the following feedback from our External Verifer’s Verificaton/Inspection report:
“A very small centre which offers very detailed training, it is well equipped to offer the courses registered. The portfolios viewed were well constructed and fully cross referenced. The level of work produced is excellent and shows the depth of knowledge obtained. The use of Moodle is a new practice for all learners which help enhance the learning experience. The learners can learn at their own pace. All learning material is online.”
All VTCT, both QCF and non QCF courses are accepted for FHT insurance coverage. FHT accept all VTCT qualifications for insurance purposes even as stand alone units, meaning that they are accepted even if that is the only qualification the student has obtained. Non VTCT qualifications for Holistic therapies such as Reiki and Holistic Crystal Massage are recognised as long as the therapist has other current accreditable qualifications such as VTCT, ITEC, etc in some other therapy such as Swedish Massage, Indian Head, Aromatherapy, etc. The only instance they will not accept them (non-accredited certificates) is when they are taken as a stand alone course and the student doesn’t have any other accredited qualification.
Other accrediting bodies include FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists), the Guild of Holistic Therapists and the International Natural Healers Association (INHA). Where accreditation is given by these organisations a statement stating this and their logo will be placed under the course or workshop description.
Students of Chrysalis Therapy Training can be assured that all of our Professional Training courses are VTCT accredited. The only in-house certificates we offer apply to our Introductory and CPPD workshops. We do not offer in-house certificates in any of the subjects covered by VTCT qualifications and we do not use our VTCT Approved Assessment Centre status to promote our own in-house workshops. It has recently come to our attention that some centres are advertising themselves as VTCT approved, but the courses they are offering are, in fact, in-house workshops. Therefore, we highly recommend that all students thoroughly check the course or subject that they are planning to study to ensure that it is an actual VTCT qualification as opposed to an in-house certificate. A thorough check into the qualification offered only takes a few extra minutes of the student’s time, but it can save a lot of wasted time and the added expense of having to re-train in order to obtain a recognised qualification. It is imperative at this crucial time with the stricter accreditation rules and regulations coming into force and changes from Nationally awarded QCA to QCF qualifications that students ensure that the qualification they will be awarded is fully accredited.
We offer in excess of 10 professional VTCT accredited Awards, Certificates and Diplomas in both VRQ and QCF vocational qualifications and continue to expand our portfolio so that we can provide our students with a greater choice of qualifications without compromising on quality or standards.
We are proud to be an approved assessment centre by the Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCT) and take our responsibility to comply with the required national standards seriously.
