Course description: The Level 3 Award in Business Practice for Complementary Therapies (QCF) provides you with the knowledge, understanding and skills to research, plan, maintain and market a business in the complementary therapy industry. You will also learn to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.

What will I learn? The VTCT Level 3 Award in Business Practice for Complementary Therapies (QCF) aims to equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to establish, maintain and promote a therapy business. It includes key business criteria such as legal requirements, marketing and public relations, communication techniques, different business types and opportunities. It also includes business requirements such as premises, resources, staff and environment.

National Occupational Standards (NOS): Units in this qualification have been mapped to the relevant NOS (where applicable). This qualification is accredited on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). This qualification is approved and supported by Skills for Health, the sector skills council for health.

What are the course requirements? It is recommended that you have a level of general education comparable to GCSEs. You should have a caring disposition and be committed to fulfilling the in-class and guided home study components of the course. To enrol on this course you must attend an enrolment interview either in person meeting the course tutor, or via telephone/Skype. You must meet the required Guided learning Hours (GLH) by attending our centre and by attending classes in our Virtual Learning Environment, online meetings and reviews with your tutor and assessor via Moodle.

Case studies: There is no case study requirement for this unit.

How will I be assessed: Once you have completed all the tutorials you will be required to complete written assignments, to be submitted as part of your Portfolio of Evidence.
