Workshop Summary: Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key), a a Japanese healing technique is a system of Enlightenment and a Hands on Healing art developed in the early 1900's by Mikao Usui in Japan. It is an art that is passed from Master to student. The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words - Rei and Ki, meaning Spiritual Energy; the term "Reiki" is used to describe both the energy and the Usui system of using it. The original system by Usui was called Usui Reiki Ryoho. It helps to reduce stress, aid pain relief, enhance relaxation and promote health and wellbeing. It is based on the principle that an unseen life force energy flows through every living thing. Reiki can either be given at a distance or by the practitioner placing their hands on or slightly above the client.

Workshop Content: During this 2 day foundation workshop students are taught what Reiki is, the Reiki story, the hand positions for treating self and others and how to conduct a reiki treatment. They are given four attunements by a Reiki Master Teacher and at this stage they are able to treat themselves, family and friends. Comprehensive materials will be provided and a CPPD certificate will be awarded upon course completion. Please bring a packed lunch, refreshments including herbal teas and water will be provided.

It is advisable that students leave a period of 3-6 months before commencing Reiki Level II.
