Workshop Summary: Diabetes affects over 2 million Britons and is widely recognised as one of the leading causes of death and disability in the industrialised world. Workshop Content: It is important that Holistic therapists are aware of the symptoms and dangers of this disease, know how diabetes can affect a treatment plan and know when to recommend that a client seeks qualified medical advice and assistance.The aim of the workshop is provide therapists with a thorough knowledge of the types and treatment of diabetes in order to help them understand the needs of their client.

What is diabetes

The types of diabetes

Why Holistic Therapists should know about diabetes and their duty of care

Possible long term complications and physical effects

The endocrine system and the pancreas

Production of the hormone

The regulation of blood sugar insulin

Hyperglycemia and Hypoglycemia

Symptoms of Diabetes

Treatment of Diabetes

Prerequisites: You must be a practising therapist to attend this workshop.

Workshop Delivery: This workshop is delivered in person at our VTCT approved assessment centre over ½ day.

Workshop Assessment: This is a CPPD Workshop, a Certificate of Attendance will be issued upon successful completion. CPPD = 2 points

Workshop Tutor: Joanne Tinsley is a highly qualified tutor who specialises in vibrational therapies and business management.
