Career Pathway duration: Practical elements are covered over 8 days attendance at our centre 9.30am – 5.30pm. Theory elements are covered by homestudy, typically over 3 to 12 months plus 2 final assessments to be carried out at our centre.
What will I learn?Massage therapists use touch to manipulate the soft-tissue muscles of the body to help relieve painful, tired and overworked muscles, reduce stress and and promotie health and well-being. The courses included in this Career Pathway have been specifically chosen to develop your practical skills in; how to provide the relaxing and stress relieving treatment of body massage and indian head massage. Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of Health and Safety, client care and communication. You will also develop a knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned throughout this qualification, such as anatomy and physiology. The purpose of these qualifications are to develop your skills in providing body massage and indian head massage treatments to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to provide your own services for clients.
Our Injury Prevention CPPD workshop will help you learn to balance the work you give clients with self-care, helping you extend the life of your massage career. It will cover how to recognise the early warning signs of injury, the injury process, safe practical techniques and other tips to help reduce the chance of injury, exercises and stretches to help improve your strength and fitness and avoid injury and the most common injuries sustained by massage therapists.
Our Advanced Massage Techniques CPPD Workshop will provide you with advanced practical skills necessary for you to work safely, effectively and with more confidence.
Our VTCT Level 3 Award in Business Practice for Complementary Therapies (QCF) aims to equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to establish, maintain and promote a therapy business. It includes key business criteria such as legal requirements, marketing and public relations, communication techniques, different business types and opportunities. It also includes business requirements such as premises, resources, staff and environment.
